The three day gathering of women activists who have attended the Sangat courses in the last 30 years and the Inter-generational Feminist Dialogue organized by Sangat, Jagori and the National Alliance of Women (NAWO- Orissa) was held on the campus of Gram Vikas in Mohuda village, Berhampur, Orissa from August 6-9th 2011.
Page The Meeto Memorial Award for young South Asians 2009
To commemorate the brief but brilliant life of Meeto or Kamaljit Bhasin-Malik (1978-2006), a scholar, activist and dancer, Meeto’s mother, Kamla Bhasin has decided to institute an award in her memory to honour young South Asians whose work demonstrates a commitment to communal harmony, peace, justice and human rights.

To forge in women across South Asia a common identity as South Asians and as women facing similar patriarchy-related concerns, to pledge for peace, justice, human rights and democracy and to celebrate our respective achievements, women from different South Asian countries decided in 2002 to celebrate 30th November as South Asian Women’s Day.
